Many thanks to Poets House and River to River Festival for putting together a magical event this evening. Finally got to read with old friend and mentor Tina Chang, Brooklyn’s Poet Laureate extraordinaire, and really enjoyed meeting Gabriel Kahane, who opened with a set that showcased his virtuosic range as a composer and musician. Suzanne Vega is ageless, and proved exceedingly generous with her performance, in spite of her jet lag following an exhausting European tour. The weather gods rewarded our hard efforts with a golden sunset, and my pics here prove it.
